Roof Repair in St. Augustine, Shown Start to Finish
Water spots on a bedroom ceiling or bare patches on the roof usually point to one failed spot, not a worn-out roof. We trace the leak to where it starts, repair that area properly and send you photos of the damage and the finished fix.

A repair that stops the leak at its source
Leaks rarely show up directly under the hole. Water slips along the decking or down a rafter before it reaches your drywall, sometimes several feet away. So we start up top and in the attic, follow the path, and talk about the fix only once we know the source.
Repair makes sense when the roof is solid overall and the trouble sits in one area: a split pipe boot, a strip of loose shingles, flashing that has separated from a wall or chimney. If the wear is everywhere or the decking is soft in more than one place, roof replacement could be the better use of your money. We'll walk you through what we saw so the choice stays yours.
We've been in business since 1995, long enough to know that coastal sun and salt air break down sealants and rust cheap fasteners. We choose materials that stand up to that and install them to the manufacturer's instructions.

What our roof repair work covers
- 01
Leak tracing
We work backward from the stain to the entry point, checking the attic, the decking and the roof surface. You see where the water gets in before any repair starts.
- 02
Shingle and tile replacement
Creased, lifted or missing shingles come off, and new ones are nailed and sealed in place. On tile roofs we swap out cracked or slipped tiles and look at the membrane under them too, because a tile is only the first line of defense against rain.
- 03
Flashing and pipe boots
Metal flashing at walls, chimneys and valleys, plus the rubber collars around plumbing vents, wear out with age. We reseat or replace them rather than spreading new caulk over old.
- 04
Soft or rotted decking
Spongy wood under the damaged area gets cut out and replaced before anything new goes on top. We show you that section before and after.
- 05
Vents and ridge caps
Strong gusts loosen these before most other parts, so we check and refasten them during the visit.
- 06
Your photo record
At the end, you get the full set of images with a short written note on each repair. Keep it for your files, for future insurance questions, or for buyers if you ever sell your home.
Questions about Roof Repair?
Call(904) 621-6670Signs your roof needs a repair
Water spots overhead
A yellow or brown ring on the ceiling, or paint that blisters near a wall, means water has been coming in for some time. If the spot spreads after each rain, have it looked at soon.
Shingles in the yard
After a gusty summer thunderstorm, any shingle on the lawn left a gap above. Piles of gritty granules at the downspouts mean shingles are wearing thin.
Damp or daylight in the attic
Light peeking through the roof boards, wet insulation or a musty smell all mean moisture is getting past the roof.
Cracked or shifted tiles
Falling limbs, foot traffic and age all crack tile. One open gap is enough to let rain reach the layer underneath.
Lifted flashing or dried caulk
Metal pulling away from a wall, or caulk that has shrunk and split, is a likely way in for wind-driven rain.
How a repair visit goes
- 1
Tell us what's going on
Describe what you're noticing and where. We set a visit for a time that works for you, and the estimate comes after we've looked, at no cost.
- 2
Inspection with photos
Our technician goes over the roof and, where it's reachable, the attic. We capture the damage and anything nearby that's close to failing, then sit down and go through it with you.
- 3
Your estimate on paper
You get a written estimate that breaks every repair out separately, so it's easy to tell the urgent work from the work that can wait. When a permit is required, it's shown there and we take care of pulling it.
- 4
Repair day
We cover plants and walkways, take off the damaged material and document what's beneath before we close it up. Small repairs are often done in a day; bigger ones we schedule together.
- 5
Cleanup and your record
Debris goes straight into our bins, and a magnetic roller goes over the lawn and drive to pick up loose nails. Then the full before-and-after set comes to you.
What affects the cost of a roof repair
We price each repair from what we actually find, so we won't guess at a number over the phone. Your estimate is free, with no obligation, and lists each item. Financing is available if the repair turns out larger than you planned for.
- How much of the roof is involved
- Swapping out one cracked vent collar takes little time. Replacing a long stretch of lifted shingles or rebuilding a valley calls for more material and a longer day on the roof.
- Roof material
- Asphalt shingles are the simplest to repair. Tile and metal take more time and care, and tracking down a close tile match can take some searching.
- What's underneath
- Rotted decking or soaked underlayment adds work, and there's no way to know until the section is opened. We show you what's there and talk it over before adding anything.
- Pitch, height and access
- A steep slope or a second story means more ladder and harness work before the repair can begin, and that time goes into the price.
- Permits
- Some repairs need a permit and inspection. When yours does, that cost appears on the estimate.
Roof repair questions we hear often
Is a repair enough, or is my roof due for replacement?
When the roof is sound and the damage sits in one area, a repair usually does the job. If we see wear spread across the whole surface or soft decking in several places, we'll tell you plainly and show you the photos. The decision is yours, made with the evidence in hand.
Will the new shingles match my old ones?
We get as close as we can in style and color. Older shingles fade in the sun, so a fresh patch can look a shade different at first. We'll show you the options before we start.
Will my homeowners insurance cover a leak?
Coverage turns on what caused it. Insurers tend to pay for sudden harm, like wind tearing shingles loose, and tend not to pay for slow wear over the years. The decision is your insurer's, but our photos give you a clear record of what happened. On storm damage claims we work directly with your adjuster, and our Storm Damage Repair page explains how that goes.
Do I need to be home during the repair?
Not always. It helps if we can get into the attic, so we'll plan that with you ahead of time. Either way, you'll get the full record of the work once we're done.
How long will a repair last?
A repair done properly should last as long as the roof around it. If the rest of your roof is near the end of its life, we'll tell you, and regular roof inspections can help you plan and budget ahead.
See the problem before you decide on the fix
Give us a call, and we'll get up on the roof, photograph what's wrong and go over it with you before suggesting any work. Your estimate costs nothing and comes with no obligation.
